Sorting and Classifying

Sorting and Classifying our dinosaurs into Carnivores and Herbivores. We took printed the picture below and added it into our Dinosaur Study book.

Dinosaur Study

Tama chose Dinosaurs as a subject of study this term. I can't say that I was surprised and luckily we are very well resourced as it's our third round of this particular obsession in the family. :-) I struggled with it at first but I think I underestimated Tama's knowledge and understanding- and aimed too low. We're finding our groove now. Luckily Perth Zoo has got an animatronic Dinosaur display happening so we're looking forward to checking that out.

Cake Baking

Cake making out of a box makes for some easy practical life action. Plus it combines science and technology as well as a bit of creativity with the decorating. :-)

Bowling with blocks

Tama experimenting with force and motion. In the end he had to get quite close to the blocks as they are quite heavy and his ball was quite light.

Magnets

Tama is enjoying manipulating these magnets to make shapes and structures. I'm hoping we can add to this set at some point- they're very cool.

Woolworths Ancient Animals has definitely been Tama's favourite so far- he worked with Les to build the T-rex model.
