A plethora of Dinosaur printables for small people.
Some handwriting printables.

An easy game for counting practice.
Pindex- a new sort of Pinterest type platform- but education focused and more professional... I can't explain, read this article.
On my 'to buy' list: Art Lab for little kids.

We're not stuck for Dinosaur Books around here- but if you are looking for some here's a pretty good list.
These dinosaur word cards are printed and ready to go.
I just brought scales for the boys but I think I may need another set to try this activity and some like it.
I also discovered Wild Flower Ramblings this week lots of great ideas!
And just in case I never shared- Kate at An Everyday story

This week on the homeschool web...
We discovered Bird Note recently and have listened to a few of their shows... it's great because they are short and there's lots to choose from.
I don't think Will is ready for this but I do like the idea of using mind maps in the future as we move to more of a balance between Will and I doing the planning and coming up with ideas for what and how we learn.
Book marking this for Will as we have plans to do some clay work very soon!
The universe is sending me a message I have been thinking of Apple Crumble for a while now!
This Pine cone exploration would be a great little side study for Will's 'Off the Track' book- it's a place where we hope to answer questions that come up that aren't part of our main area of study at a time that doesn't suit to answer them.
I love the quote about play at the start of this post about letting kids do their own thing!

This week on the Homeschool Web...
I love these little elves and this is a super easy tutorial.
An interesting article on learning that reflects our experience at home. And also what I strived towards when I taught Gifted and talented.
If it ain't broke don't fix it.... there have been many worthwhile changes in the education system and some not so worth while. I think labelling Will's free time as 'Developmental' is an excellent idea.

More on why academic push down of reading is not a good plan. And just academics too early in general.

This week on the homeschool web....
Moving and touching helpful to learning... I guess the wrigglers and the fiddlers can't stop their nature!
Super cool resources for learning about fractions.
I'd like to get this alphabet for the boys I love that there are 10 of each consonant and 20 of each of the vowels.
I want to remember to observe some snails... the boys would love it!
Another thing to remember Bird Week starts October 19th! I think the boys would be into doing a bird count.
Will doesn't seem all that interested in gardening at the moment but I'm also book marking these competitions for later use just in case.

This week on the home school web...
I do love the look of these My First Montessori Books. I have a couple on my wishlist at the Book depository- I'd like to have a look at the fractions and square numbers ones.
I love the idea of using spinning tops as a fine motor activity.
101 reasons to homeschool. :-)
Grace and Courtesy is something we could do better at our house.
I want to get both Will and Tama more involved in their own food prep and other self-care stuff. Tama can get himself dressed and Will is capable of making his own breakfast but there's no reason why they can't prepare or help prepare their own lunches with a few modifications to our pantry/fridge set up.
Love these ideas for extentions to the ways we can use our nature table.

This week on the homeschool web...
Kids discover has some cool free resources. I wish they had ebooks of some of their issues as the cost is prohibitive to order them to here in smaller numbers but they look cool.
I read a lot of Happiness is here this week. An unschooling Australian Family with 4 girls.
Will enjoyed his new favourite person's You tube Channel Veritasium. (His new favourite person is a scientist: Dr Derek Muller).
Willowbrook farm looks like it could be a cool place to go for a few nights camping.
I think the Gravity Discovery Centre is something Will, Tama and I would enjoy checking out.
I am bookmarking the Targeting Maths book as I think it might be a good one for Will. And also handy for my planning.
Bookmarking River Blossoms in case we win the lottery I'd love to send Tama there next year.

This week on the homeschool web...
I liked this article “Can you imagine them at school?”. I think her description is pretty apt... which is kind of weird to me because I'm not totally anti-school- weird paradox?
I'd like to try a Mystery box with Will and Tama, I think it would be fun!
Some natural material art inspiration.
I think we need a digging pit!
Free Science Experiments!
A bunch of links to places for learning online. I want to have a look at Khan Academy with Will.
I want to do the bird Collage in this post with Will and Tama- very cool.
Also cool is this Tree of Life Chart... so pretty and interesting.
Big Picture Science has a free downloadable Tree of Life Chart you can make yourself.

This week on the homeschool web...
The lovable learning blog has some great ideas for Montessori inspired homeschooling.
Home grown books products are lovely!
The Montessori Child online store is Australian based.... yay!
Learn with play at home has some cool ideas. I'm keen to try cows and bulls with Will.
Designing with loose parts at Happy Crafty Family has a list of ideas for items to collect.
And some more cool physical resource ideas at Let the Children Play.
A great article about how we view socialisation.

This week on the home school web...
I need to translate to Australian the ingredients for this Super Easy Gold Slime.
I need to do this visual schedule it will help both me and Will!
And taking note of these tips for highly sensitive parents will also be very helpful!
If you have a small person who you think may need speech therapy to articulate some sounds (as we do) then this is a handy article with the basics.
Book marking this Audio book I think Will might enjoy: George and the Big Bang
If you are an Australian Based Home Educator then HEN (Home Education Network) is a great resource- it's Victoria Based- but you don't have to be.

Wooden miniatures - there's one for every letter of the alphabet- but I can imagine some other cool uses for them.
